Dr. Yufei Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She developed a passion for marketing in pursuit of her master’s degree and subsequent professional experience as a market research analyst in marketing research firms in both the United States and China.
Dr. Zhang holds a profound interest in marketing strategy with specific focuses on e-commerce, digital marketing, and brand management. She finds these topics particularly fascinating due to their fast-paced changes, providing researchers with continuous opportunities to explore new angles that contribute to improved decision-making for both managers and consumers.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Zhang has demonstrated exceptional dedication and persistence. Her accomplishments include the publication of numerous projects initiated during her Ph.D., some of which spanned up to seven years. Drawing from her own experience, Dr. Zhang advises Ph.D. students and junior scholars not to be disheartened by rejection letters in the competitive world of publishing and encourages them to stay committed to their passion projects.

Beyond academia, Dr. Zhang finds joy in celebrating her achievements by shopping. When not immersed in the academic realm, she enjoys watching Chinese TV dramas and traveling, although the latter has become more challenging with the responsibilities of caring for her two small children.
