Dr. Narayanan Janakiraman is a faculty member in the College of Business at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). He earned his Ph.D. in Marketing from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA, in 2004, and subsequently joined UTA in 2012. Prof. Janakiraman’s research focuses on three key areas: Time Perception, Donations, and Unexpected Shocks. His scholarly contributions have been featured in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and Journal of Retailing, among others, as well as in numerous peer-reviewed proceedings.

Prof. Janakiraman is actively engaged in the academic community, serving as a reviewer for esteemed journals, including the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Retailing, and Journal of Marketing, among others. At UTA, he imparts his knowledge and expertise in Marketing to undergraduate and graduate students.

Prof. Janakiraman is affiliated with prominent academic societies, including the Society for Consumer Psychology and the Association for Consumer Research, where he has held various roles such as Ethics Committee Member and Winter Conference Program Committee participant.

His work has garnered attention from various media outlets, including newspapers like The Washington Post and The Boston Globe, magazines such as Harvard Business Review and Entrepreneur, and online platforms like Science Daily and The American Genius. Prof. Janakiraman has also been featured on radio and television programs, including CNBC’s Street Signs with Erin Burnett and WFOR/CBS Miami.

In addition to his Ph.D., Prof. Janakiraman holds an MBA from Pondicherry University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from Government College of Technology.
