Dr. Subhash Jha is an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis. Prior to joining the department in the Fall of 2020, he gained five years of experience as an assistant professor of marketing, both in India and in the United States. He has made significant contributions to academia, with over 1,000 citations stemming from his publication of more than 30 peer-reviewed research papers in esteemed journals such as the Journal of Retailing, Journal of Service Research, and Journal of Business Research, among others. Notably, his article “Effects of frontline employee role overload on customer responses and sales performance,” published in the European Journal of Marketing, received recognition as a highly commended paper in the 2018 Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence. Dr. Jha is actively involved in shaping the scholarly discourse in his field, serving on the editorial review boards for the Journal of Business Research and the Journal of Service Theory and Practice. He has been honored with prestigious awards, including the George Johnson Research Fellowship Award and the Best Paper Award from the Fogelman College of Business & Economics. In recognition of his commitment to excellence in teaching, Dr. Jha received the Graduate Engaged Creative Teaching Excellence Award. Additionally, his academic journey has been supported by accolades such as the Teddy Jacobi Scholarship and recognition as a Doctoral Fellow at the AMA-Sheth Doctoral Consortium. He was also awarded the William O. Bearden Doctoral Student Research Runner-Up Award at the Southeast Marketing Symposium in 2017.
