Natalie was originally drawn to marketing by her love for fashion, which might explain why she celebrates a job well done with some retail therapy! But she suggests that she grew to love marketing’s blend of math and creativity as she learned more about it.

Given her interest in data privacy, Natalie suggests that “marketers can enhance performance with data analytics, but privacy concerns have motivated policymakers to respond by introducing data privacy regulations.” Natalie indicated she is most proud of all the progress that she and her team have made with ongoing research projects, suggesting that while it is a long process, she finds it very fulfilling to see something grow from an idea to an academic journal publication.

Advice for new scholars: “Do not underestimate the power of being organized and making time for what you love. Some of my best research ideas have come from giving myself the time to think and be creative.”

When not working on academic endeavors, Natalie enjoys tennis, running, and calligraphy.

And a “Fun Fact” about Natalie… The Lion King on Broadway was one of the first shows she attended – She loves seeing Broadway musicals!
