The AMA Retail & Pricing SIG welcomes applications for four awards, which will be presented at the 2021 Winter Educators Conference. Award details and application procedures are outlined below.

The deadline for applications is November 30, 2020.

IMPORTANT – Nominees for all awards should be a member of the Retail and Pricing SIG of the American Marketing Association (AMA) at the time of application, and the nomination letter should specifically mention this point.

Please submit nominations to cszocs@lsu.edu and snoble@utk.edu with the ‘subject line’ of the email mentioning one of [Mentoring Award 2021] or [Service Award 2021] or [Best Retail or Pricing Paper Award 2021] or [Retail or Pricing Doctoral Student Award 2021]

Award Details and Application Procedures

  1. Mentoring Award
    • This award is to recognize outstanding mentors. Nominees should be exceptional mentors to doctoral students or junior scholars. Nominations (self-nominations are welcome) should include a cover letter explaining why the nominee is a good candidate for the award and a current CV. Preference will be given to applications that also include at least one letter of recommendation from a mentee, attesting to the nominee’s mentorship of doctoral students and/or junior scholars.
  2. Service Award
    • This award is to honor individuals who have exceeded expectations for their rank in terms of service to retailing and/or pricing. The nominee should have demonstrated exceptional service to the fields of retailing and/or pricing. Nominations, including self-nominations, should include a cover letter explaining why the nominee is a good candidate for the award, and also include a current CV highlighting service appointments.
  3. Best Retail and Pricing Paper Award
    • This award is to recognize a paper that has made a significant contribution to the retail or pricing literature. The paper should have been published in the previous calendar year (i.e., 2019) in an English language marketing journal. Nominations, including self-nominations, should include a cover letter explaining why the paper’s contribution merits an award. Please also attach a PDF of the published paper.
  4. Retail and Pricing Doctoral Student Award
    • This award is to recognize a doctoral student for outstanding research related to retailing and/or pricing. The nominee should be a current doctoral student or a recent graduate (PhD completed on or after Jan. 1, 2018) who has developed outstanding research in retailing and/or pricing. Nominations (self-nominations are welcome) should include a cover letter explaining why the nominee is a good candidate for the award, and a current CV.
