We are excited to highlight the winners of the RAPSIG Retail and Pricing Mentoring Award: Jie Zhang, Dhruv Grewal, and Dipayan Biswas. This award recognizes outstanding mentors of doctoral students or junior scholars in the retailing and/or pricing research areas.

Dr. Jie Zhang, Professor of Marketing and The Harvey Sanders Fellow of Retail Management at the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, is recognized by multiple junior faculty for her mentoring role as their dissertation chair. Jie is recognized for her dedication and energy in teaching doctoral students the craft of research from a perspective that research is “not a sprint, but a marathon.”

Dr. Dhruv Grewal, the Toyota Professor of Commerce and Electronic Business at Babson College, has mentored junior faculty throughout the world who have gone on to become successful scholars. Druhv has authored numerous Financial Times top 50 articles with his many mentees and his beneficial influence is recognized by mentees many years later.

Dr. Dipayan Biswas, the Frank Harvey Endowed Professor of Marketing in the School of Marketing and Innovation at the University of South Florida, is credited with helping his students achieve prestigious fellowships and awards and introducing them early to the responsibilities of the academic disciplines so they become contributing scholars.
