The AMA Retail & Pricing SIG announces recipients for four awards, which were presented in a special virtual reception at the 2021 Winter Educators Conference on February 19, 2021.
Award Details and Recipients:
MENTORING AWARD
This award recognizes outstanding mentors to doctoral students or junior scholars. This year, the recipients for the Mentoring Award are Jie Zhang (Professor of Marketing & The Harvey Sanders Fellow of Retail Management, University of Maryland), Dhruv Grewal (Toyota Professor of Commerce and Electronic Business, Babson College), and Dipayan Biswas (Frank Harvey Endowed Professor of Marketing, University of South Florida).
SERVICE AWARD
This award is to honor individuals who have exceeded expectations for their rank in terms of service to retailing and/or pricing. This year’s recipients, Lauren Beitelspacher (Babson University) and Anne Roggeveen (Babson University) have demonstrated exceptional service to the fields of retailing and pricing.
BEST RETAIL AND PRICING PAPER AWARD
This award is to recognize the top paper or papers that have made a significant contribution to the retail or pricing literature. These papers must have been published in the previous calendar year (i.e., 2019) in an English language marketing journal. The co-recipients for the Best Paper Award are Herhausen, Kleinlercher, Verhoef, Emrich & Rudolph (2019), “Loyalty Formation for Different Customer Journey Segments” Journal of Retailing, and Kanuri & Andrews (2019) ,“The Unintended Consequence of Price-Based Service Recovery Incentives” Journal of Marketing.
RETAIL AND PRICING DOCTORAL STUDENT AWARD
This award is to recognize outstanding doctoral students or recent graduates who have developed outstanding research in retailing and/or pricing. This year’s recipients are Jisu Kim (University of Washington) and Julie Verstraeten (Ghent University).
